Stella Maris Airport, as well as the mid-Long Island Deadman's Cay Airport, is your hub for all inter-island and international flying needs. The Stella Maris Resort Air Service provides customer timed inter island connections at both seat and charter rates, on demand, and commuter flights provide regular Nassau schedules.
Welcome to the Stella Maris Marina
Here are a few facts about services provided at the marina and
surroundings for your guidance:
Dockage Rates: $1.00/
running ft. per day. Dockage includes normal water usage. Electrical
consumption is metered and charged at $0.58/kWh, minimum charge
per day of $11.00 for 220V and $7.00 for 110V apply. Dockage
discounts apply after two weeks stay, see marina rates sheet
for details.
Banking: A Scotiabank with ATM machine (note: only
Bahamian money) is located on the main road 200ft south of the
marina. Opening hours: Mon. to Thus.: 9:30 to 3:00, Fri.: 9:30
to 4:30
Post Office:
is located in Simms, opening times Mon. thru Fri. 9:00 to 5:00.
FedEx and DHL express mail service are also available on the
island; please ask the hotel front desk for details.
Internet
Access: Wireless internet access is available at the hotel, a
private laptop is required. Usage is free of charge for hotel
and marina guests.
Telephone: A pay phone (Batelco phone
cards available at the hotel front desk) is situated at the entrance
to the marina.
Drinking
water: Drinking water (in normal container quantity) is available
free of charge at the hotel.
Potable Water: The tap water
at the marina is good quality rain water. Although normal usage
is included in the dockage fee, we kindly ask you to use it sparingly
and avoid running hoses …. all water has to be trucked
to the marina.
Transportation: The resort offers courtesy
pick up to the hotel for dinner guests. Taxis can be requested
via VHF channel 16, just call “any Stella Maris Taxi”,
or via the hotel.
Rental Cars: Can be arranged via
the Resort, call “Stella Maris Resort” on your VHF
Ch.16 or call us via phone 338-2050.
Shower Facilities:
a shower is located next to our pool on the upper level. Follow
the stairs at the north eastern edge of the marina basin.
Laundry:
A coin Laundromat is located across the street, full laundry
service also available.
Supermarket / Liquor Store: Nearest
liquor store about 1 mile north of the marina. Small supermarket
and liquor store at the fuel station about 1.5 miles south. Two
convenience stores located in Burnt Ground (about 5 miles north).
Two large supermarkets located in Salt Pond, abut. 18 miles south.
Fuel,
Oil and Parts: We stock a wide selection of brand oils and lubricants.
Fuel is generally available Mon. thru Sat. 7:30am to 4:00pm,
or on prior notice.
Things to do in Stella Maris:
As a guest of Stella Maris Resort and Marina, you are welcome
to take part in all of the hotel’s activities and entertainment.
Lots of these are complimentary, for example: the use of our
four pools (one located at the marina), use of bicycles, daily
snorkeling and beach trips, free usage of sunfish sailboats,
free rum punch parties, etc. Here are just a few ideas of what
to do in Stella Maris and Long Island:
Dive’ in
to the spectacular waters which surround Long Island, dives include
the original Shark Reef, Comberbach wreck, Conception Island
wall dive, Blue Holes and numerous coral reefs
Fishing
in Long Island is world class, from bone to deep sea fishing ….

With world record size Wahoo, Yellow Fin Tuna, Mahi Mahi and
billfish, Stella Maris and Long Island are still a sports fisherman’s
secret.
Snorkeling sites are easily accessible, enjoy
vivid underwater colors just steps from the beach, or join our
twice weekly snorkeling trips via boat. is possible from shore
and via boat, for beginners and experienced snorkelers.
Go
kayaking, we drop you off in a wonderful lagoon which is yours
to explore, several hours later we pick you up in a second lagoon.
In the meantime you will have paddled through an eco wildlife
habitat, filled with marine and bird life, plus spectacular views
from Columbus monument.
Customized boat trips: Speed
boat trips to neighboring Sandy Cay (pirates of the Caribbean
was filmed there!), watch and feed wild iguanas, grill your freshly
caught fish on the beach, the day is yours to plan …….

and Excellent Dining at Stella Maris are guaranteed, enjoy weekly
rum punch parties at our Resort. Experience the thrill of a real
cave party (during winter only and subject to occupancy). Enjoy

Rent a car and explore
the Island on your own, we will supply you with a map of the
island with lots of points of interest; explore Indian caves,
the deepest blue hole in the world, snorkel to secluded islands,
relax on some of the nicest beaches in The Bahamas, enjoy lunch
in numerous native restaurants ……… it’s
worth it!
Tennis courts are only a 5 minute taxi ride
away. Perfect for early morning or late afternoon exercise.
Cycling
along on of the most scenic and elevated water front roads in
The Bahamas, in the immediate surroundings of the hotel is breath
taking. Bicycles can be used free of charge.
